Hiden Guide

Introduction

Hiden equipment allows you to obtain the very powerful Weapon Tech skills. Tech skills grant a 20-30% damage increase (depending on weapon), Fencing, and Super High-Grade Earplugs. In addition to this, each weapon gets unique special effects from its Tech skill.

To gain the full effects of the Tech skill, you need 30 skill points. This can be obtained on any set by equipping 3 Hiden decorations, either “True” or “Hiden”, in addition to a Hiden Skill Cuff. This skill is incredibly powerful and, assuming you use a Hiden Skill Cuff, also does not impact your total skill cap, so it should always be used in endgame sets.

Item Acquisition

There are three sets of Hiden items: Souls, Ribbons, and Merits. Souls are split into Low, Mid, High, and Top, whereas Ribbons and Merits are both only split into Low, Mid, and High. Each Hiden item is given in “Other Rewards” if their requirements are met. A list of eligible quests for each material is included below.

As normal quests only reward 1 material, however, there are two primary ways of obtaining the items more quickly. Firstly, there are HR5 and GR daily quests that award a large number of Hiden items, but these are limited to two per day. Secondly, doing “Guild Priority Requests” rewards 3-6 of the relevant Hiden material every quest. Priority Requests change daily, and can be checked at the Bounty Board by the Blacksmith entrance. There are also Unlimited Guild Priority Requests. There are three Priority UL monsters per day, which give Low, Mid and High / Top Hiden materials respectively.

Quest Requirements

All Souls, and Ribbons only drop from Hardcore quests.

Merits only drop if the quest is not Hardcore, but they do not drop if your GR is below 500. They do still drop from the same quest ranks as Ribbons. In addition to this, Merits also drop from Exotic and Zenith quests.

Equipment / Refining

To obtain Hiden equipment, you need to follow a few steps. You first need to create a Hiden armor piece. These can be found in Armors –> Special Armor –> Hiden Armor. There are two base armor sets for each weapon type. Once an armor piece is upgraded to GX7, you can create Hiden decorations by refining the armor, just like any GF or GX decoration. At the Blacksmith, go to the Refine G Armor section, and select a GX7 Hiden armor piece to refine. Unlike normal decoration refining, it does not matter which equipment piece you refine for a Hiden decoration. Unlike GX decoration refining, what determines the decoration you refine is the color of the equipment piece. For example, every piece of the “Byakko・Kensei GX” armor will give a “SnS Hiden・White” decoration, whereas pieces of the “Genbu・Kensei GX” armor will give “SnS Hiden・Black”. Below is a table of all Hiden armors and which decoration they give.

**MS Hiden Armor has a special requirement**

In order to craft MS Hiden Armor, you are required to have the SR for every single weapon unlocked. (Be sure to craft any Switch Axe and Tonfa, talk to the Guild Master, and then MS Hiden Armor should be craftable).

Hiden Decorations

To get the True decorations, you need one of each color Hiden decoration. These can then be crafted into any of that weapon’s True decorations in the normal “Create Deco” section.

True Decorations

Unlike the vanilla game, Hiden Skill Cuffs can now be directly crafted at the blacksmith using Ribbons and Merits. The section where you can find Skill Cuffs is:

Skill Cuff –> Hiden Cuffs –> True Cuffs
